What'SUP Wisconsin? SUPformation - Part 2

4 Major events, that's What'SUP in Wisconsin!

1.  Midwest Paddle Festival and Paddle & Portage Race:

July 29-30, 2016 in Madison, WI

Paddleboarders will formally be joined into the canoers and kayakers family in this 37th annual race "creating a celebration of paddle like no other." You'll start at Olin Park Friday evening, and paddlers as well as the general public can enjoy gear demos, pro clinics for elite paddlers, learn to SUP for beginners, and SUP yoga. Then the race on Saturday will begin at James Madison Park, and will include a 1.5 mile paddle on Lake Mendota, a 1 mile portage around the Capitol past the Dane County Farmers' Market to Monona Terrace (where your friends can help you carry your board, you can use a strap, or a wheeled device, think fun, not work), and a 1.5 mile paddle across Lake Monona to the finish line back at Olin Park. After the race, enjoy a post-race party at Olin Park with live music, food, craft brews, costume contest, and the awards ceremony. Click the link above for more details, places to stay, dining info, more things to do (if this isn't enough), and a list of more Wisconsin festivals to participate in.
